Load on the Arm

When you attach a camera, valve or other devices to the arm, calculate the weight as the equivalent of the shaft. Then, add this to the weight of the load attached to the shaft, and enter the total weight to the Weight parameter.

Equivalent Weight Formula

WM=M(LM+L1)2/(L1+L2)2

WM equivalent weight
M Load on the Arm
L1 Arm 1 length
L2 Arm 2 length
LM Distance from rotation center of Joint #2 to center of gravity attached to the Arm.
Calculates [Weight] parameter when a “1 kg” camera is attached to the end of the LS8-C arm (375 mm away from the rotation center of Joint #2) with a load weight of “1 kg”.

W=1

M=1

L1=375

L2=275

LM=375

WM=1×(375+325)2/(325+275)2=1.26 (Round up to two decimal)

W+WM=1+1.36=2.36

Enter “2.36” for the Weight Parameter.
