USB Communications
USB 1.1, USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 (*1) can be used to communicate between one controller and the PC. This is the default communication method for Epson RC+ 8.0 and requires no configuration. To connect to a controller via USB: The customer must prepare their own USB controller.
- Connect a USB cable between the PC and the controller.
- Turn ON the Controller.
- Start Epson RC+ 8.0
- Select [Setup PC to robot controller communications] on the toolbar.
- Ensure that connection #1 (USB) is selected.
- Click the [Connect] button.
- Click the [Close] button.
KEY POINTS
EPSON RC+7.0 may already be installed on the same PC. If EPSON RC+ 7.0 is already performing USB communication, Epson RC+ 8.0 cannot perform USB communications. Make sure that EPSON RC+ 7.0 is disconnected before connecting Epson RC+ 8.0.
CAUTION
When performing the USB communication using the computer with Windows 10 or later, communication with the Controller is disconnected as the PC enters a sleep state. Before performing the USB communication, make sure to change the PC setting so that it will not enter the sleep mode.
